Originally this was a Novel being written by three people. Shit happens, and people change. After removing the third writer we decided to revamp the story and finish our Horror Story "Thirteen".
Part 1
The roar erupted in the
auditorium as the caps were thrown into the air. The maroon caps
floated down onto the graduating high school students as smiles were
beaming on everyone's faces. The roars started to subside when the
students flooded out into the garden. Parents started to snap away
capturing the smiles of their children of passing a milestone of
life. A group of teenagers about twelve of them stood in a circle
looking at each other with knowing looks.
They knew their
lives were about to change abruptly. There would be no more chasing
each other down the halls, then laughing when someone (usually
Delilah or Brooklyn) busted their ass. They seemed to have a
conversation with their eyes. No one said anything just randomly
laughing at the silence and remembering the good times. Hugs were
exchanged and pictures were taken but everyone knew the real emotions
would come out later on that night at the party. They disbanded to
find their families. Jacob stuck his hand in his pocket to pull out
his sidekick and take one last picture. When he pulled out the candy
wrapper he automatically looked at Brooklyn, and Brooklyn glared at
Delilah. Everyone knew instantly that no matter the distance some
things will never change.
Brooklyn glared at Jacob as he began
to mumble how she stuffed a candy wrapper in his pocket. “It wasn't
me loser it was Lilah … she always doing that crap and you never
see it!” Brooklyn said as she shook her head. Her curls bounced as
her curvy frame shook with the words spilling from her lips. “Its
not my fault Jacob is slow” Delilah said smiling and her chocolate
cheeks rising. “Its you Brooke I know it” Jacob said folding his
arms and looking at her. “Jacob it wasn't me!” Brooklyn shouted.
“You have the guilty face” He commented as Delilah giggled at the
two.
As the three stood there in their usual arguments stance
as the other eight were scattered in the garden. Elijah and Logan
stood with their mother. She smiled happily as the two boys had big
goofy grins on their faces while the light flashed in their faces.
She was so proud that even though Logan was a year younger Elijah, he
still managed to graduate with everyone. The boys blinked rapidly as
they hear speedy Spanish talking behind them. Elijah instantly knew
who it was and smiled at Ashley who was on her cell phone. She glared
at the tall boy and he smirked while you hear Logan sigh.
Ashley
grew annoyed with her brother's endless questions. Before hanging up,
she informed him that she would only be home briefly to change for
the party. “You forgot to mention that you're not going home at all
after that.” Elijah smirked playfully. “And why won't I be
returning home, Rodriguez?” She asked placing a hand on her hip.
“You're going home with me tonight.” he replied cockily.
“What about Logan? Will he be there?” she asked purposely
ignoring Elijah's advances.
“If he wants to watch and
see how it's done, he can be there.” Elijah responded, making
his point more than obvious. “Dream on Elijah, you know I only have
eyes for Logan.” Ashley winked playfully at the boy who slung
his arm around her shoulder. “Yeah Elijah, you know I'm her dream
man.” Logan commented before sprinting.
Elijah chased
Logan half way across the garden and tried to avoid trampling Tiffany
and Michael. Tiffany was having a hard time convincing her mom to let
her go to the graduation party. Michael stood there watching the two
argue not wanting to interfere with the dispute between mother and
daughter. Though he was considered part of the family, he knew better
than to come between two fighting Dominican women. He backed away
slowly as the argument went from a strained whisper to a quarrel.
Michael walked over to Allen and Kiera who were discussing who was
going to be the designated driver.
Allen crossed his arms and
frowned at Kiera's pouting. “I want to enjoy myself as much as
everyone else. Being the designated driver means no drinks, which
means not as much fun. Can't you guys just call a cab or sleep over?”
Kiera mulled the options given. “I guess you're right. It's just,
we're supposed to be saving money for the trip, so a cab is out.”
Allen rubbed his temples and sighed. “It's fine,” Kiera kissed
him on the cheek. “I'll ask Lilah if she wouldn't mind.”
“There's
always the sleep over, like Allen mentioned.” Michael interjected.
“I guess, but I really prefer not to stay out all night. My mom is
Dominican and you know how they can be.” Kiera began
explaining. “Say no more,” Michael shook his head in frustration.
“Speaking of Dominican lockdowns, can Tiff come?” Kiera
asked as she felt a pair of arms lock around her waist.
“No,
I can't” Tiffany sniffled a little. Michael sighed and
extended his hand for her to grab. “It's okay, babe. Just
behave for a little while longer. Once you're on the trip, you'll be
free!” he stated dramatically, making everyone burst out in
laughter. “You would almost think you're the one on the
Domini-lockdown.” Allen joked. “ Yeah, he might as well be.
When we go out my curfew is his. It's like why even leave the house.”
Tiffany complained. “Trust me, there is no reason to complain for
not being able to leave the house.” Kiera winked and playfully
elbowed Allen.
