The Secrets of Blood and Bone by Rebecca Alexander
Rating: 2.5/5 Stars
This book was in my genre of choice which is YA Fantasy. However I
haven't read the first book in this series yet, but that is ok as
this second book is fine as a stand alone. I did want to go back and read
the first one of course to understand some parts. I was slightly confused at times about what was going on in the book.
To
be honest, this book was all over the place, and slow moving. I am
still confused about things by the end of novel, and not because of the way it ended in a
cliffhanger. This book jumps between the past and the future in the life of the main character Jack. I did not like the constant back in time thing that was going on.
The every other chapter being in the past thing got old quick and I
honestly liked it better when I skipped over those chapters because I
only really cared about the present times anyway.
This book is good for someone interested in the Vampire-esq type of stories. I would recommended also for others who enjoy books with Victorian aspects.
