Faulty Lines
II
Imogen skipped down the hall until Cam made a sharp right and
she galloped down the hall. She could hear the gruff voice speaking to the
other guys.
“Mike!” Slowly turning he glanced at Imogen who was dressed
in leggings and skull hoodie. Raising an eyebrow and tilting his head to the
side.
“Moreno come on we been over this since Grade 3, It’s
Dallas!” He said as the guys chuckled.
“Well … Michael I
prefer Mike besides I kind of need a tiny itty bitty favor”. Her bottom lip
poked out and he began to cave at her actions.
“What Immy I already made the guys stop bothering Eli” He
sighed.
Deadpanning she rolled her eyes before taking a deep breath.
“Cam is back”
“Who’s that another boyfriend you sure get around huh Imogen?
Bet you would like to be all in the Baker bed” Luke commented and laughed.
Dallas leaned over and punched Luke in the arm. “Shut up
Imogen is off limits got it! Don’t talk about her like that” He threatened.
Raising his arms in surrender Luke kept shut.
“He is? That’s great we need someone for the offensive, can
he still skate, when will he be available, did your dad drop you guys off and
wait till … wait what’s the favor?”
“He cannot know about Eli! I beg of you do not tell Cam about
Eli, I’m still trying to figure out how to tell him” She begged. Dallas glanced
at the guys before pulling Imogen away from them. Directed them into the
Memorial Garden and closed the doors.
“Immy you know I care about you, you are one of my best
friends but Cam is like a brother and if he asks I cant lie to him and I wont”.
“I am not asking for you to lie, I am asking for you just
omit for a few days, if Cam found out you know … you know what would happen”
Imogen whispered.
“I know Immy I was there too, look we might of have separated
our circles but you are my best friend but can you please just figure this
out?” Dallas asked.
“I will soon just remember no telling Cam please”
“No promises”
Imogen smiled before leaning over and engulfing him into a
hug. The door to the memorial garden opened and the sounds of students roared
in the background. Imogen pulled away from Dallas and smiled.
“There goes my girlfriend!”
Imogen turned around to see her boyfriend Eli with a rose and
a sly smile. She ran towards him and held him tightly. She snuggled her head in
the crook of his neck and took in his scent. It was spicy with fresh mint and
his silver chain sent a shiver down her back.
“Missed you too babe” Eli chuckled and realsed her from his
grip. His green eyes settled on Dallas and he raised an eyebrow.
“Dallas”
“Goldsworthy”
“Immy just tell Cam to see me in the Café, have a good day”
Dallas said as he sent Eli a glare which was returned.

Cam slid his books into the locker when he felt a presence next
to him. He turned to see the tall dark skin male smirking at him.
“Moreno!”
“Dallas!” Cam returned with heavy sarcasm
“Still skate or did that boarding school knock it out of you”
Dallas asked and adjusted himself off the locker.
“First it was a prep school for the gifted, second my ass can
skate circles around you and third shouldn’t be harassing some underclassmen?”
“Yeah I am harassing you Niner”
Cam scoffed before bringing Dallas into their manly hug.
“Immy told you I was back huh?”
“Something like that but Niner we need you on the Ice
Hounds!” Dallas said as Cam began walking away. The two shoved one another and
chuckled at their childish antics.
