The Lit Exhibit: SPECTRUMS - A Writing Gallery

The Lit Exhibit: SPECTRUMS - A Writing Gallery

On April 14th 2017, I had the opportunity to be features along side other writers in a writing gallery exhibit. This was all curated by Lana C. Marilyn aka Cinniie, a Brooklyn native, who wanted to feature POC writers, not specified to women but that was the outcome.

Besides pieces of writings featured, additionally there were art pieces.

The atmosphere was amazing and relaxing at the same time. I engaged with others through interactive pieces and conversations. I read some amazing poems that made my friends and I debate about certain ideas. We all agreed on which one we liked and pieces we enjoyed. One of my favorite things was this journal and instead of ink to display the words, the letters were punched out. This piece was one of the interactive ones.

Additionally, the actual atmosphere, The New Women's Space, was such a quaint but intimate place for this to be hosted. One of the co founders actually spoke to us about the area and purpose of starting this space up for others to be creative.

This was an amazing experience and I thank everyone for their support and advice.
